No Centre Console

Hello from Australia!

I am a new Camaro owner - 88RS w 305TBI - and am wondering if anyone has modded the interior to remove and leave out the centre console, relocating the few switches it has, and maybe using a B&M shifter or similar.

This in an effort to free up some cabin room for us 6'2" aussies.

Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks

Tim

PS There is a small switch between the elec window switches - what should it do?

that switch is the hatch release button, and only works when in park I believe

the only problem I can forsee is where you would locate the heater controls and radio, other than that, sounds interesting

the small switch unlocks the hatch and if you have good hatch struts could let it open all the way. sometimes convinient. just a suggestion but you could just get the seat tracks extended. a b&m megashifter will fit in the console. but if you dont mind relocating the switches then yes you can remove the console.

I've actually just removed my console in an effort or fix it. I can see how a replacement carpet without the cutout for the console can be installed and have a console free camaro (In my case Firebird).

Any chance of a photo from inside your car now that it is (temporarily) console free?

Thanks
