Your speedometer is mechanical. Electical on camaros came in 1990 when they changed the dash all together. And my 84 s/c had the huge fuel guage and i got the 140 mph iroc dash with the tach and it works fine.

yes you see, there are 2 like clips in the back of the Guage panel. Each one has wiring going to them. The tach wiring is already hooked up.
To simplify everything i said, any swap of guages will automatically work, unless it is a 90-92 guage cluster.
And a little more FYI, if u swap like an 80 mph guage for 140 guage, it works fine. The only thing that you might have to change like i did was the sending switches since i had the tri-warning lights for like temp and oil, if u already have needles, it will be a direct swap.
Oh and no prob

yea no prob. If u need any more questions about anything let me know. most of our "base models" run along the same page and i pretty much changed everything so let me know.
Oh and yea i was debating bout changing to the 84 Z28 style but i was like, this is like 300 lbs lighter so ill keep it.
