Speedometer Jumpy
OK, I need some help. Last week I had my gauge cluster out to install white gauge face overlays. After I was finished, I reinstalled the cluster, and made sure all the connections, inc the speedo cable were connected. Also while it was out I performed to fix on my trip noted in this forum.
Now that the cluster is back in the car I have found 2 problems: the firt, and more annoying is that my speedo neeedle seems to jump a 20 mph span whenever i'm going over about 40 mph. I read in another thread this may be a sign of the cable binding? If so how do I fix it? Also does anyone have any other ideas?
The other problem is that my temp and oil pressure gauges donot seen to work anymore. They worked before, but don't move now. Everything else is working fine, so I'm stumped. Any ideas would be great. Thanks

Theres usually a little tab that secures the speedo cable to the cluster, before getting carried away with binding, id make sure its on there. I beleive you have to listen for a "click". Tough space to work in, but start with simple things first.

your overlays interferring with the gauges perhaps? could explain the oil and temp gauge malfunction.
did you pull each individual gauge out? maybe they're not seated.
