Re: grant steering wheel button on apc wheel?

Some of the APC wheels were the same as the grant wheels. Grant has a few different style horn buttons, and APC may have a couple different styles too, so it's hard to say yes or no. You've got to measure the hole and figure it out for your particular application. Buy the horn button from your local auto parts store so that you can just return it if it's not right.

Either that or get the part number and have your local store order it. If it's a current product, it should be on Grant's site.

Re: grant steering wheel button on apc wheel?

I'm sure that Advance Auto can get it for you, and if it didn't fit, you should be able to return it. But... that looks like their most common style horn button, which fits the majority of the grant wheels, and I'd suspect there's a very good chance that it'll fit your APC. However, you may want to take a look at 5870, 5871 or 5876. They're quite a bit nicer and will really transform the way the wheel looks. I bought a polished grant wheel with leather wrap for my Camaro, and it came with the chrome version of 5870. I swapped it for 5876, then took the chrome one and put it on my truck wheel, which had the plain horn like the one you're interested in. It really made that wheel go from "*******" to tasteful simply by upgrading that horn button to the bigger piece.

Here is the wheel I bought. It' sat my shop now. The telescopic column basicly fell apart and I needed to replace the broken plastic parts.

Re: grant steering wheel button on apc wheel?

Typically I'd say I hate that wheel, but in a C4 that might look pretty good. However, scratch my previous comments about the horn buttons... they won't look good at all with that style wheel, unless they can cover that whole larger circle area. If not, I think your horn button will probably fit... that center section looks the same. If you pop that horn button out you should be able to bring it to an auto parts store and compare it with the standard button in their Grant steering wheels. If it's the same thing, then your Corvette one will work.

I'll give that a try today. The C4 interior is pretty freaking ugly stock, anything to make it better will help..

Thanks again!

Yeah, I'm really not a fan of the Atari interior, but I really like the 90+ interiors. The combination of a digital speedo with analog everything else like my 91 has is absolutely perfect to me.

The Grant signature series button is smaller, and the GT series is larger.. wtf.

For now I took apart the APC button and blacked out the center so it doesn't say "APC" in fried-rice format. The wheel doesn't look too bad in the car. The instructions to the mounting kit were not right though.

I actually removed the blacked out thing I did last night, downloaded a logo, printed it to scale, and put the horn button back together.

Re: grant steering wheel button on apc wheel?

That wheel has the big chrome ring that I was talking about before. It makes that style wheel look much nicer than just sticking the horn button directly into the flat hole in the center of the wheel.

Yeah, I had it off for a while... then I decided to use the ring, and I like it better now.

I'm ok, thank you!

Plowed into my blazer. My trailer hitch destroyed this guys volvo, but it still caused some pretty decent damage to mine. Bringing it to the adjuster now to figure out how bad.

Friday the 13th man.. wtf..
