floor pan repair POR-15
well i started my floor pan repair the rust wasnt too bad...i wire brushed the **** out of the rust spots and then the rest of the floor pan and then painted with POR-15...just lookin for some input on how ya think i did and if it will stop the rusting...wasnt able to use metal ready or the marine clean due to the fact its too much money but i have heard from many users and shops that as long as its grinded to metal or rust its ok...so to my understanding the POR-15 will stop the current rust from spreading? here are some pics of what i did thanks in advance for the input...

You understood corect.
The POR-15 will stop the rust in it's tracks.
Great stuff just don't get it on your hands, it takes forever to wear off..

Re: floor pan repair POR-15
Funny i just finished doing the exact same thing in my car lol. ezcept i just put the carpet in today! I did use a different degreaser and i used metal ready, but all metal ready does is turn the rust pure white, I dont think its neccessary. My floor was really bad tho in that there were huge holes in it. So i welded in new rear seat floors and torque boxes where the lca's connect to. then por-15 the whole underneath the car and the floor inside. great job!

Re: floor pan repair POR-15
The metal ready etches the metal, a necessary step for longevity. I`ve been using POR 15 for more than 20 years and it is good stuff if the instructions are followed.

Another vote for you'll be good to go now! Just make sure you are sealed up/protected on the underside too. Or it WILL rust away under the POR-15. Ideally you should sandwich both sides of the floor with it so no moisture can work its way in.
But that stuff works wonders man. I painted my battery tray with it awhile back and it still looks glossy and just as nice as when I did it. I really coated it all over and under. I did my batt tray, radiator support, SFCs, custom crossmember...and soon my 12-bolt. Anything I can paint with it Ill use it.
Good job cleaning things up! Feels great to clean the rust off and get it all nice and black with the paint doesnt it??

You should be fine. You are lucky meany third gens are plagued by rust especially the guys up here near Chicago no what I mean. I worked a t a body shop so sanding or grinding it down to metal or rust and then applying any type of rust stop will do wonders.
