Removing Interior Plastics.
Removing Interior Plastics.
I know there was a sticky or post somewhere on how to remove interior plastics but cant seem to find it. The main part I'm trying to find out is how to remove the plastics on the rear drivers side where the back speaker is installed at on an 86 camaro. I have a nice dent I'm trying to get access too and hope that I can get to it from that area. Unfortunately I dont have one of those fancy stud guns that weld the studs you can use a slide hammer on
. Anyway if anyone can assist me on finding this info it would be greatly appreciated
Thanks for your time

your talking about the rear, well its pretty easy most of the screws are either phillips, or these big plastic flat head screws, you may have to remove the shocks for the rear hatch with a torx 45 or 50 bit i dont remember off the top of my head which one...that should do it.
Re: Removing Interior Plastics.
Are the speaker covers in the sail panel area basically just snap in place with those metal keepers ? Able to be popped out with like a screwdriver or something ?
Thanks for the info

Re: Removing Interior Plastics.
the coat hook at the top of the speaker trim panel comes out with a #2 phillips head screw driver. After that you just slide your fingers under the bottom edge and push upwards. The whole panel comes out then.
Re: Removing Interior Plastics.
The speaker panel is pretty self explanatory
Im assuming you mean the large plastic panel that runs nearly the entire drivers rear
After you remove the various #2 phillips screws you need to remove the T-47 receiver that the rear seat latches too
86 should not have rear shoulder seatbelts, so you dont have to remove those
Once that is removed, just run your hand along the edge of the hatch and pop out the plastic push thingys
Next task is to pull the bulky piece out
Best way Ive found is to pull the rear cargo box out and then slide the front out then exit the hatch
Once you do it, youll find this is really simple
