i'm replacing the headliner on my 83. wondering if there's a color code for the headliner/ carpet somewhere so i can get an exact match. the interior is brown so i'm guessing it's briar brown but i'm not 100% sure. just wanted to make sure before i go spend a lot of $$$ on a new headliner, sail panels, and sun visors.

seatbelt/vinyl trim/seat color "interior color" is the same as the roof liner for most applications so that description of those colors should be what color the roof liner is called.
yea but i'm not exactly sure what the name of the color is. wondering if there's some kind of code (something like a paint code?) for the interior color. there's a few different shades or brown available for the headliner and trim and i don't want to get the wrong one by accident.

I have gotten these codes before, but for the life of me i can't remember where. Check out yahoo or google and do a 1983 Firebird Interior Color Code, you might find something. I will look for my paperwork because i was in the same situation as you, but luckily there was only one gray for me to choose from, but either way i had the code and the proper name for it...do you have your RPO sticker??? At least you would have an idea of one of the color browns name.

If your buying the headliner cloth from a local supplier, take one of the sunvisor's in with you.Use the side that is facing up to the headliner and you will get a good match. You will not find a 100% color match,it will be real close to what the factory put in it.I know,as I can order 15 roll's of the same color of headliner and ever one of them has a very little color difference.
i was planning to get a whole new headliner because mine is literally disintegrating after 25 years. figured i'd replace the sail panels and sun visors too so everything matched. i'll be getting it online and thats why i needed some sort of name or color code- so i can get an exact match. it's hard to visually match the color to the little pictures they have online.

my biggest suggestion so that everything matches and goes together correctly is the fact that many places offers all three...sun visors, sail panels, and head liner all off the same lot so it matches. Classic industries has an online catelog where they have colors and everything, they might even have a yearly break down. I know ebay has thier kits set up as well, but i'm not sure as how true they are to original colors, while classic industries has all the proper names and colors for you.
