Limp Turn signal lever

I need to fix the turn signal lever on my '90 RS. When I bought it the signal lever was just hanging down(still attached to the hinge) but it doesnt click up or down. The high beams work and what not so Im wondering how I can fix this? I already have my steering wheel off since im installing a new one. Do I need to dig a little deeper into the column?

Re: Limp Turn signal lever

Not sure on an air bag column, but on a regular column you need to remove the lock plate. There is a very cheap tool to buy that makes it much easier. You compress the lock plate, remove a fussy little clip, and slide it off. You should be able to see what is wrong after that. There is a little metal arm that is supposed to connect the lever to the switch. It's held on with a phillips screw that may have come loose.

Nope, different problem. There is another recent topic that deals with that issue.
