its what the topic says can i put firebird gauges into my camaro because the shine on system to light up the gauges are the worst thing to ever be slapped into a camaro whereas the firebird ones shine through and if the chicken ones wont fit what ones will? after market or doner from another car dont matter as long as it looks good and fit obviously, also what modification will need to be made?

 

take out the old bulbs and replace with new generation new ones. Also, paint the surround for the guages in a silver and you will really see the difference.

 

X 2 on painting the surround silver. Painted the back side silver, but haven't changed the bulbs and made a world of difference. Painted the front side red for a ring effect around the gauges which matches the car's color.

 

when you say surround of the gauges do you mean the plastic bezel or the "cupped" part of the gauge? and i was planning on getting leds for it
Edit: or do you mean the plastic housing that holds the bulbs and printed circut board?

ok so i paint the metal peice silver on both sides with high gloss silver paint or chrome paint? or just silver?

 

Paint this piece silver (or chrome) on the back side for more reflectivity. I painted mine red on the front to give the appearance of rings around the gauges.
