86 Firebird project
Hey guys, Im new to posting around here but Ive been browsing the forums for a while and would like to say wow, you all have some nice cars.
Ive had my 86' firebird for about a year now. Heres some background on it:
Its previous owner parked it in a field in 99 and it sat until I bought it in 2006 for $50. Needless to say it was in sad shape. After towing it to the shop I spent a few months getting it running. I put in new filters, a fuel tank and pump (anyone whos had to do this knows thats a job and a half), fourth gen silver star rims with kumho ecsta supra tires, new paint, window tint, gauges, and a stereo system (pioneer head unit, 600 watt amp, 2-12" infinity subs, component 6x9's). There was a lot of other stuff that I cant think of at the moment...a lot of things go to hell in 7 years.
Ive been driving it around for the last year or so but due to a lack of funds havnt done much work on it.
I recently started again and im looking to do pretty much a full overhaul...new engine, suspension, interior and paint.
Ive already put in:
Eibach prokit
adjustable rodend panhard rod and control arms
subframe connectors
LED underglow kit
shift ****
aluminum pedals
Ive gotten but havnt installed:
new seats (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=280209868665)
matching blue 4 pt harnesses
black carpeting
black trim
black headliner
TA ground effects off an 86 TA
and im talking to a guy about buying an LS1 from a 98 camaro.
Do you guys have any ideas or suggestions?
Im thinking about going to a 4th gen center console and possibly some digital gauges. Also, what sorts of difficulties am I going to run into putting in an LS1?
