Front and rear seat removal tutorial
So im really bored and got sick of waiting on money and parts so might as well rip it all apart and make tuts on everything.. we need a tutorial sub forum...if someone with power seats can tell me if theres more steps besides unpluging the harness ill add them...........center counsel removal is coming soon
Front and Rear seat removal (84 Camaro with manual seats/hard top)
Front seat
1: Remove Phillips screw in seat belt retainer on side of seat slide seat belt out

2: Remove 4 x Phillips screws in the 4 plastic covers front and rear

3: Remove 4 x 13mm nuts under the plastic covers front and rear
(power seats have a harness you have to disconnect)
4: Lift seat up and out it will try to fold up on you(BE CAREFUL NOT TO SCRATCH THE CAR)
5: Find missing socket you have been looking for and change..

6: All done
Rear seat
1: Remove 2 x 13mm nut under the bottom of the left and right seat (Its in the middle carpet may be covering it)

2: Put your hand behind the bottom part of the seat and you will feel Velcro and pull on it and the bottom half will come out (the Velcro is the only thing left holding it on)
3: Remove the 2 x 13 mm under the left and right corner of the back rest

4: Pull the seat fold handle to make sure its not stuck and then lift and remove the top half of the seat
5: Again find missing screws and sockets
6: All done

Re: Front and rear seat removal tutorial
I think a tutorial forum is a pretty cool idea. First time hearing that.
But do we really need a tutorial on removing the seats
What next, a tutorial for taking out the t-tops
Good job on the tutorial though, looks like you even made seven cents from it

Re: Front and rear seat removal tutorial
I completely agree on the tutorial sub-forum!
I'll hopefully have alot to contribute when it comes time to do my 2.8-3.4 swap.
The pictures for the rear seat actually will help me a bit because when I bought my car the rear seat/s wasn't in it.

Re: Front and rear seat removal tutorial
Reading most of the thread titles, "HELP!!!" and so forth, im sure there are plenty of people that appreciate that, not the smartest bunch of people on here.
Re: Front and rear seat removal tutorial
I don't know why we don't have a tutorial sub forum >_>.
Great place to search for something filtering out all the questions. I would just make one big forum category outside of interior/carbs/etc, called Tutorials. That way things that cross into 2 different categories cooling/electrical wont have issues being categorized, and you just plop all tutorials in one forum.

We all have to remember, we all started somewhere. Simple tutorials like this are great for people who have never touched a car, or are afraid to! This gives a stepping stone into much more advanced things...

Re: Front and rear seat removal tutorial
Looks a lot cleaner than my seat removal
I don't think the interior of mine was cleaned since it was brought home from the dealer.

Re: Front and rear seat removal tutorial
Okay, sorry about this question. might be obvious to some.
for the fourth gen rears, did you take off the seat belt loop and use the one that came w/ the thirdgen?
thanx
