customizing deluxe door panels
anyone know how to do something like this?
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/inte...ht=door+panels
because i am going to try to get new deluxe door panels for my car and customize them to kinda have a foam flame coming up them, i saw it on the old g&t fiberglass page, but now that i recently looked there i havent been able to find the pictures.
and i want to try to do this, but i also dont want to waste materials by trying to figure it out on my own

Re: customizing deluxe door panels
it looks like it is all described in the thread. he used an 1/8" plywood board to create the insert. The "WS6" was also cut out of 1/8" plywood and glued to the board. He then got a sheet of vinyl (it appears to be vinyl) and adhered it to the backing board. I would use permatex heavy duty carpet and trim adhesive for that part. I've used it on my t-top headliner and it worked great. He probably adhered the wood board right to the fiberboard door panel too, with a couple of holes in it to get some extra mechanical bond by allowing the adhesive to seep through the hole
