Best place to buy weatherstripping?
Best place to buy weatherstripping?
I'm currently deployed, but when I get home, some of the money's going into refining the Trans Am. The main thing is the plastic, the seats, carpets, and the weather stripping, mainly around the doors. Plastics, carpet, and seats are everywhere, but I'm having a hard time tracking down weather stripping. It's for an 82 hardtop trans am if that helps at all. Any good sites?
I've checked the few that I know of, Hawks, Classic Industries, Modern Day Muscle, and Ecklers. I'm seeing NOS at $400+ for both sides, of aftermarket stuff at less than $100 for both. I'm not restoring this baby, just driving her and not wanting cracked weatherstriping, any reason not to go aftermarket?

OEM GM and Soffseal replacement seal parts are two of your best investments. BEWARE and Stay away from Classic Industries OER weather strip parts! They're a waste of money.

I like my soffseal, redoing everything on my car with it, seems like a real good product

Stay away from Classic Industries, Year One, and the other "big box" guys, they get all their stuff from overseas....but hey, if you wanna put overseas stuff on your American car....have at it.
For thosae that bought from Soff Seal....good for you. As for me...I've had nothing but horrible experience with them and their crappy parts!!
UGH...I could go on and on about Soff Seal....crap, crap, crap!!!
Just one man's opinion.
