8 Pt. Roll Cage & keep back seat?
Has anybody out there made & installed an 8 pt. Roll cage that will pass NHRA rules & can still get people into the rear seats?? Do I need racing seats to try & do this (less bulky?) If so, anybody used racing seats that save some real weight but that are still comfortable??? Pictures would be great!!

If you want to put a roll cage of any sort in your car i would not suggest putting anyone in the back seat. Your needlessly risking there safety and putting yourself at risk of a lawsuit. You have to choose one or the other... you cant have both. (you can of course keep your backseats for looks, however).

How do I risk a law suit If I have full coverage insurance, foam wrap on the bars & seat belts???? Obviously I wouldn't have anyone back there that I didn't know, more than likely one of my sons & his girl friend If we are doing a cruise...... They told me I couldn't have air conditioning & 10 seconds either..........

bounce around in an accident. hitting a roll bar with padding doesnt do all that much to take the impact away, wrapping 1" foam around a bat and letting sumone swing at ur head doesnt do all that much if u kno what i mean. needless to say for saftey reasons or if u care about anyones life in the rear seats it wouldnt be smart to put them in there in case an accident was to happen. even with seatbelts it can get kinda messy, unless u have 5 point harness back there, im guessing that would help with how much the body would move/swing
also getting into the rear seats with a roll bar is a bigger pain than u think. i just installed a 6pt in mine without rear seats and i cant even get to the back area let alone to the seats... if they were still there.
not sure how u got into the 10s without a cage... but thats just dangerous. i also installed a summit polyethelene racing seat. its super light. maybe 10lbs and is more comfortable than u would think.

I agree...I just had a cage done in mine this summer. All my buddys cant wait until its back together so we can go crusin..but I wont let anybody back there. The first time you smash the brakes and someone busts their mouth open Im ganna be pissed cus of the blood lol..No I just dont want to take the chance. Yeah it would be cool if we could all ride around in my turd but accidents happen. Iv seen a guy crash a Firehawk or a WS6( on the street) cant remember, but with a cage and 1in padding on the bars and he had to have stapels in the side of his head..just somethin to think about..

Appreciate the input guys......but I'm still going to see if there's a safe way to engineer this deal even though it doesn't sound promising.......Thanks for the things to think about thought, I appreciate good input...

You should be put in jail if you put anyone, much less your own son (and his girlfriend) in the backseat of a car with a rollbar. If something did happen while she was back there, her parents would own you and could press charges against you. And why would you want to endanger you own son?????
Your risk of a lawsuit will be from gross negligence on your part!!!!! By allowing passengers in the backseat with a roll bar installed!!!! Full coverage insurance, seatbelts, and padding will not prevent life threatening injuries!! You could even be charged criminally!!
