ACC Carpet Quality

All,
This past weekend, I met an ACC representative and asked about the issue of carpet fading that I've read about on the forums. She stated that there was a big issue about 6 years ago, but was resolved. The problem back then was the company they used to color the carpets, forgot to put the color stabilizer on all the carpets so they either faded out or turned a different color all together. She said that the only time they hear about these issues anymore is from a reseller that is still offloading old stock that was from that time frame.

If anybody has a color issue with their carpet, and it is an ACC carpet, she stated that they will warranty the carpet. There were restrictions though. She said a car that is a show car and faded can be replaced easier than a car that is a daily driver and shows signs of heavy wear. If the carpet is taken care of and shows no signs of abuse, it should be covered.

Lastly, I asked about the custom carpeted interiors to see if they have contoured carpet for the wheel wells and plastic surrounds. I was informed that they don't have them, but will create them if someone has a complete set that needs to be replaced and is willing to send them the originals. They need to be in good shape, though so they can create a template and contour model.

After speaking with her about these issues, I found out that she was the one that created the contoured floor mats for Eckler's last year using my originals as the example.

Re: ACC Carpet Quality

This is good news, I bought some carpet for my 83 firebird and the 2 things I noticed was the heel pad is the 2 piece design from later models no the single piece and the backing is thinner then OEM, otherwise my color is spot on.

I haven't installed so I don't know about fit.
