Wiring Power Seats

Hi,

I'm trying to wire power from my fuse box to power power seat because my car does not have factory power seats and I'm trying to put in my new 4th gen seats. I know that I'm supposed to run the power wire from the fuse to the seat, but I can not seem to find the power cable to use. I know your supposed to use eaither an empty non-switched ignition port, or a switched ignition port it doesn't matter. Could anyone let me know which area this is exactly because I'v cut into like 6 wires and had to reattach them because I'v had no luck. If anyone could point me to this I would greatly appreciate it, all the wiring is set on there, and I already have an inline fuse I just need to know where to cut into.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi,

Found out myself today, if you look in the way back there is a power wire going up towards the ignition. It is a red wire, there are a couple thin wires also, but you know its the power because its thick and red.

Re: Wiring Power Seats

I probably would have tapped into a wire for the power window--its close to the seat and wouldnt want to take a chance with my ignition wires.
Glad to hear you ran a fuse.
Post a pic of the new interior!

Re: Wiring Power Seats

you can tap it into the ACC fuse port, or you can just grab power from the power window wires. the ground will go from the seat to the seat stud, or just drill it into the chassis. looks like you are making it more complicated than it is.

Re: Wiring Power Seats

I got i done, everything works fine now. It wouldn't have been good to tap into power windows or acc because my drivers side window power is weak as it is without tapping more into it.

Re: Wiring Power Seats

the power is weak, or the window regulator is weak?
