GTA options (rubber floor mats? overhead console?) + a good paint pen?
GTA options (rubber floor mats? overhead console?) + a good paint pen?
About the options for a '88 GTA Trans Am...
I know that all cars originally came with floor mats (apparently cloth with a GM logo?) but apparently some of those that came to Scandinavia came with two rubber mats on the front and nothing in the rear. Nothing unusual about that, cars usually come here with rubber mats because of the weather.
Anyway, my car has two rubber mats. Left and right side are identical. They have a large eagle logo near the top, "TRANS AM"-text in the middle and then two long strips of cloth. Always thought they were aftermarket ones (and always liked them) but today I ran into a guy with a '89 GTA and the exact same mats who said that they'd be original.
I have my doubts since there's no GM logo anywhere and they just SEEM aftermarket... But thought I'd ask: Were there ever any OEM rubber mats offered as an option for a '88 GTA? And if so, anyone know what they were like (and if they're still available somewhere)?
By the way, the eagle logo and the TRANS AM text have obviously been white at some point but years of dirt (and quite possibly the use of black wax or similar on the mats) have made them looking rather gray and dirty. Washing didn't help much so I thought I'd try to brighten them up by using a white tire paint pen. There are a billion of those available, anyone have any recommendations for a good one (or other ideas to make the text white again)?
Also, did any '88 GTA's come with T-Tops AND the overhead console (the one that had the map light, the flashlight and those rotating counters)?
