Re: calling out people with functional 4th gen hvac controllers
The vacuum lines I have do work, sort of. I followed someones diagram on here that had it broke down to what went where. I do not have a heater control valve, mine never came with one. The problem I am trying to figure out is why the outside air door does not close all the way when off. I get hot air from the vents through the cowl hood, long story. the blower and the hot/cold cable works good.

Re: calling out people with functional 4th gen hvac controllers
On mine right now, one is plugged. This Sunday, I am going to mess around with them again. I think my main prob is not enough vacuum to the actuators or a bad actuator. I will look for the post that had the diagram I used to help get started.
Heres a link for the diagram I used for the vacuum lines. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/atta...enhvac.gifJust curious, what have you got working so far?

im barely getting there . but i am trying to figure out the best way to unite the colored vaccum hoses or just trying to use the controller sections with the 4th gen vacuums. and unite them with small straight vacuum adapters?

I used really small line connectors, then wrapped with elect. tape tightly for good measure.

any ways to use the 4th gen green vaccum to activate the heater control valve?
or what is the purpose of the green vaccum?

The vac lines are easy as pie , its the hot/cold cable thats the problem. Personally im putting the factory one back in , mounting it in the stock 4thgen location and making a small plastic plate to cover the outline and make it look factory. This save's the hassle.

Re: calling out people with functional 4th gen hvac controllers
I used the 4th gen lines from the controller, then cut off the 3rd gen ones kind of by the console, then spliced them together following that diagram from earlier. As far as the control valve, I think I would just ditch it, remove the hoses, then add in 5/8 hoses to the core from the engine, like a lot of our cars our, including mine. The hot/cold cable was easy for me, I used the factory 95 cable completely. I cut off the bracket thing where the old cable attached, then modified a 1/2 bolt(I think) to fit very tight inside the center hole of the 4th gen cable. Lines everything up the way I wanted it to work so I knew where exactly to place the bolt. Then I JB welded the hex head end to the bottom of the door where the old bracket was that I cut off. Put the cable end in place and held it there with a nut and two long screws through the original holes on the botton of the cable. Works great and I can remove it if needed. Just make sure you put in on the correct way. When you are actually doing it, it makes more sense. The blower controls was easy, the one plug in, plugs in, the other you have to cut and join the pigtail. There is one wire that goes between both connectors, I dont remember what color it was, but it was obvious which on and where it goes by looking at both the 3rd gen and 4th gen connectors. There is a chart on here to what colors go where, I believe they may have been the same color even. Back to vacuum, mine do work, I can hear the vacuum switching, its just the doors on mine are think are messed up or the actuators are not functioning right causing the issue I have, other that that, I am sure it work like normal.

Re: calling out people with functional 4th gen hvac controllers
I only posted my solution here because I looked for 2 months thru old threads on this forum and did google searches before I dove into my 4th gen dash install, and never did find an answer anywhere on a workaround for the HVAC problem. I posted the link so someone searching across the same old threads as I did on the problem wouldn't run into a bunch of dead ends like me, but apparently that isn't appreciated by everyone.
