My visors keep falling as driving.. Normal?

I am just wondering if this is normal or if the visors need to be replaced.. Whenver driving around my 87 Iroc i notice that the my driver side visor slowly begins to lower itself.. The roads around here are not as smooth as they should be.. Just wondering if it is just the visor which I can easily replace or if it is normal.. Thanks

Its so annoying isn't it!? I've had that for a long time and its bothered me alot, but haven't thought on how to fix it. I'm sure someone will chime in with a solution and you and I both will be pleased.... hopefully.

the only option I have thought about is putting some velcro pieces.. but at the same time i want to gte my headliner repaired so not sure if that will affect it in any way.. i think I am going to have them redo the headliner and then just look into some velcro pieces.. to be honest i never use the visor for anything so its really just a waste to be there.. i jsut didnt want to buy new visors to find out it wont help at all

when things get old lots of things sag . ( don't ask me how i know ) anyway it's a common complaint . the most likely problem is the silver shaft is turning in the mount . i tried almost everything , epoxy , locktite . i finally drilled a small hole through mount & shaft and installed a roll pin . end of problem , good luck .

LOL this is a daily frustration for me as well. Glad to know Im not alone.

Anyways my current fix is a binder clip, clipping the visor to the edge of the t-top opening. Ofcourse this will only work for T-Top cars.

I still need a new headliner and visor set so I hope my brand new set will fix this when I get around to getting them.

Unless your visor set includes the hangers, you'll likely see no improvement.

There is suppose to be a plastic bushing the hinge pin.Remove the screw on the visor(not the 3 on the hinge), pull the visor out.Usually the bushing is wasted & replacements dont last very long(sometimes).I took plastic sheet from an office folder, but a thin sheet plastic will work.I cut a piece about 1.5 inches long & wide enough to wrap around the hinge pin. Then inserted the visor back on.Screw it back down & done.

BTW: if the pin itself on the hinge is loose. Then the bushing wont help much.Usually though the bushing is the culprit.

I love our experiences. The hanger has always been the problem with mine. The above link provides a link to the bushings for those who might need them.

And I've never had the bushings fail. Who can tell what will fail or not on these crazy old cars or ours.

87, I can only assume that the hanger's bad.

Some hinges have a bolt above the spring, but there is only so much you can turn that bolt. You could try putting a washer between the bolt & spring!
