Well I have followed this "How-to" :

I have removed the 8 bolts infront, lowered the steering wheel ½ inch
and removed the 2 lower 10mm bolts.

But I cannot pull it out and reach the speedo wire ?

How to remove it in the best way, I dont wanna break anything, please help me

 

You'll have to release the speedo clip, which holds the speedo in place, from underneath the dash. A flash light and long-bladed flat screw driver are recommended.

Hope this helps, I took a pic of the clip so you have some kind of idea of what you're trying to do. You need to push down on one side so that the end of the cable will clear. The clip sits at an angle and grips the cable. The tab should be located near the bottom and offset towards the drivers side. Or the seven O'clock position if you are facing the speedometer.

 

Thanks for the response, Is it easy to remove and attatch it again ? The wire ?

Is it easy to break it ? Cause I dont wanna lose the speedometer, and do I need to adjust something to get the correct speed after removing and putting the wire back ?
Or is it impossible to change the speedometer "setting" when removing the wire ?

one other thing you should do is remove the two screws holding the fuse block in place. i found that reaching up to reattach the speedo is much easier with the fuse block slightly moved out of the way.

 

Easy to remove and reattach, yes. No problem with breakage unless you somehow happen to break/damage the speedo needle with a heavy hand. There is no adjustment afterward. Plug and play.

Change done

Installed LEDs in the dash, Shifter indicator and AC controlls.
Also installed White Strong LEDs in the roof, floor and backviewmirror.

Good job there. Looks just like mine after I swapped in LED lights. I especially enjoyed more light on the climate controls and the console to better see the gear selection.

Your dash lights look amazing and I know this has problably been asked to death but where did you buy your LEDs and what color are they?

 

Damm good job bro! Hey I didnt know there was lights by the doors, I wonder if mine has it. Did you also change the light under neath the dash by the cigarett lighter or so?

The LED color is Blue on the Gauge, Tranny indicator and AC Controll
And the Floor, roof and rearmirror have super bright white ones for good lightning.

LEDs can be bought from superbrightleds.com in US for the friends over seas :-) In sweden you can buy these kit thru me.

I Changed the dash, shiftlight, ac controll to blue and the roof, floor (driver and passengerside) and rearviewmirror to superbright white ones

I knew some cars had lights by the door but I never knew my car did until a couple days ago when I took an old (not working) alarm system out of my car. It uncluttered the engine bay A LOT, it made me feel safer knowing the wiring is butchered any more, and I was able to shorten a lot of it so there is less wiring in general. I probably saved an easy 5 pounds from all the crap I took out. Do the lights by the doors have a lens that goes over them? I don't have any lens.

I don't think I have a light under the dash but maybe I do and I just don't know it yet. lol

How bad would it look, or how bright would it be if I just used the white LED's everywhere? My car is red with black interior and I doubt the red LED will match the stock dark red paint.

I did a red LED conversion in my Z car. Looks pretty good at night there are a few high spots but im fixing those tomorrow. I could take a few pics to show you guys if you like. I'm planning on using blue LEDs in my camaro I just havent gotten to that point in her break in to warrant tearing the interior apart...again. My Z car I'm planning on a red and black paint scheme so the red LEDs help (that and I needed the practice for my camaro lol).

 

Wow your roof one is awesome! I wish you lived in the US so we could buy stuff like that from you lol. And by all means anyone with LEDs in their car should post pics, they make our cars look 100x better on the inside.

 

You can even dim the things using a PWM circuit. If you get some really bright ones and you would like them a little dimmer. Nice explination including diagram of the circuit here.

It would require you to move the dimming wires from the headlight switch to the PWM circuit however to make it work. However I do not think it would really be all that hard. Just stick another little **** in the dash

I know of a website called hidplanet.com that explains the PWM circuit in detail. Truth be told I'm working on converting this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6sZg...eature=related to work on my Z i'm almost done with working out the schematics but it will be a while to build. I'm working on making something similar for a 240sx, custom lights, and custom tailight lenses. To put these lights into the dash of any car isn't that hard what's the hard part is the overall look you are trying to achieve. 91-92 dashes should be to hard. I will take pictures of my Z to show you all. Fortunately for my Z there was already a PWM circuit built into the instrument lamp circuit of the dash. Doesn't mean I dont understand it its just I got lucky. As far as the PWM circuit you could just use the dashes dimmer you would just need to run the right resistors in series to the leds in order for them to work. The PWM circuit just makes it a lot easier to run them with the attached resistors also gives the driver a little insurance on the amount of work needed to put them in. There is also some other goodies that this led god has done that I want to put on my cars I just need time. His name is azdave on the hidplanet forums and I do mean that this guy is a god when it comes to leds and he is cool on answering questions.
