Locking center console...

Has anyone modded their center console to have a lock? I was thinking it would be nice for in the summer and the t tops off to be able to lock it. Search didn't seem to find much on it. If you have can you throw me a link or pics? Thanks.

Re: Locking center console...

I am also interested in being able to lock my center console. Has anyone done this? Are there any aftermarket locks available?

Re: Locking center console...

I think there was a similar thread on this a while back. The only thing I can suggest is to remove and use the lock from the rear hatch "glove box" and drill and install the lock in your center console...

As strong as that lock wouldn't be, I would just continue leaving your valuables at home or carry them out of the car with you. Lets face it, people notice our cars, and leaving the roof just makes them an easy target.

Re: Locking center console...

You could always resort to the driver's rear locking compartment.

I believe that's what we were saying wouldn't be strong enough.

Re: Locking center console...

well, you can get technical and reinforce the center console with metal plates and make it strong enough...
