Need help with guages

hey guyss im switching out a 87 camaro gauge cluster into my 83 camaro. i was wondering if i will have to mod anything because the 83 has dummy lights and the 87 is all manual. im also having problems disconnecting the speedometer cable from the 87 cluster. i dropped the steering wheel but still can not get it off. i honestly dont know how to get it off. any advice would be greattly appreciated!
