Re: dimmer switch help

the dimmer switch has a rod goin through it and its white. It has two bolts on it at both ends of a chrome lookin thing. But the way to get the two bolts out are to get a regular wrench, well thats the way i did it. I know its not fun lol but u will get it.

Re: dimmer switch help

the dimmer switch is connected to a 3 inch metal thing and the bolts are holding the bracket on. I think they are on the very top of the bracket. Ill try to post a pic of them later

Re: dimmer switch help

I have a question, I already located the bolts to take the switch and swap in the new one. My problem is at the turn signal lever.
I opened the cover at the steering wheel where the turn signal lever is and a black plastic piece fell. I think this is the piece that is between the turn signal lever and rod that goes down to the actual switch. How do i go about putting it all together I cant seem to figure out how it goes.
Also I failed my state inspection because of this problem

can anyone help please!?

Re: dimmer switch help

The light switch **** - to remove - on the bottom side of the switch (inside the dash) there is a very small button - it has to be pushed up - can take the underside cover off at the floorboards and poke a pencil up there - use the eraser end as the rubber won't slip off the button.

The dimmer switch is almost at the very bottom of the steering column - it's just above the brake pedal - I think you are looking at the wrong switch. You'll know it by pulling on the dimmer switch (turn signal lever) while looking, and you'll see the rod actuating the switch.

Most times the switch doesn't need replaced, just adjusted - I'd try just adjusting it first. BTW those screw heads are 7mm.

Where in NC are you alex?
