Need help finding this clip

I know this is a two part clip with a christmas tree style and a grommet or receptacle and I have plenty of the christmas tree's but I have not found the receptacle piece. Can anyone help me locate them? New please, thank you!

These came off the rear interior pieces. The receptacle snaps into the larger square holes, then the christmass tree snaps into the receptacle.

You will find these at the auto parts stores... these will be found in the section of replacement stuff... all of this stuff I think used to be packaged in red packaging... you will find door handles, screws, guides, and other gadget stuff that needs replacing over time... you need to just go there and look for it... other places to try would be lowes or home depot... I've found a few things at Lowes...

Re: Need help finding this clip

That's the HELP brand. In my local AZ, the clips actually weren't with the HELP stuff. They had a separate spinning rack with trim screws, nuts, bolts, and other misc. stuff by manufacturer. They were on that rack.

Re: Need help finding this clip

Well I just checked Orielly's, AutoZone, Advance, and Napa. Napa showed it in their book but they no longer sell it. Dorman no longer makes it. GM dealers do stock them so I'll probably go that route.

GM #20370594
Dorman / Motormite 700-986

Check the Dorman catalogue. One of these may work:

Re: Need help finding this clip

I was working on the car today and had to run to AZ for some heater hose. Look what I found. Told you I saw them there last time. Have your local guy order it for you if they don't stock it. $2.29 pack, they only have black trim screws. 3 screws and three receivers per pack.

Re: Need help finding this clip

Hi, I’m sort of exited to finely tie together the trim’s in the back. Can anyone confirm that the Dorman #961-380 are the right clip/screws for my -86 camaro? My interior colour is dk Carmine.

A bit hard to tell, but the GM #20370594 seems to be different.

Sorry, but I’m of at my work site and don’t have my car here.
How many do I need? Two in the front end of the spare tire trim, two in the back of the spare tire trim/ hatch pull down trim and two at the hatch pull down trim/left trim? 6 total? Are they all the same?

Cheers

Re: Need help finding this clip

Snow...............Do you mean the square clips and the big screw to hold the rear cargo area trim and spare tire cover to the body?
There are 6 and they are all the same!

If so here are the correct Dorman part #s"

Dorman pn# 700-985 screw.
It is described as a 3/8 Nylon screw.
In stock in black only at most big box parts stores!
Try www.thirdgenranch.com Denny may have some Carmine in stock.
Thats where I got my grey ones!

Heres 5 of them in red on fleabay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FIREB...ts_Accessories

Dorman pn# 700-986 Anchor nut
It is described as a anchor nut.
Sorry outta luck on this as its discontinued!

BUT !!!!!!!!!
These guys have them and they are even cheaper than the Dorman clips
even with shipping!

Re: Need help finding this clip

Sonjaab, thanks a lot. Really appreciate your info. Yes I’m thinking of the rear cargo trim and spare tire cover to the body. Think I’m going to check out Florida Auto Fastener. They might have more experience when it comes to shipping international.

Cheers

Ahhh...............Europe huh? Didn't notice that!

Give them a shot. I see no problem with shipping them as they basically
came in a padded envelope and were sent like a ordinary letter parcel post.

Good luck!

Hello snowstorm!!

I dealt with Florida Auto Fastener about three weeks ago, and they gave me excellent service!!!

I purchased what I thought was a set of (6) "Black Plastic Rear Cargo Screws" for a Camaro, but got what they called a set for a Firebird. Be careful, as the screws for a Camaro are different from the screws for a Firebird.

The Camaro screws have a "textured" head, whereas the Firebird ones have a "smooth" head. (Firebird guys, correct me if I'm wrong, and I just got cheap off shore parts!!)

If your looking for the correct screw for a Camaro, you can try the dealer with part # 20432852, these are "Dark Blue" (1982 Indy Pace Car parts?) and the parts manual tells you to "paint to match"!!

Best of luck on whichever way you go!!

P.S. Dealer price for a pack of five screws that you have to paint to match was $25.50 CDN.

Florida Auto Fastener, pack of 6 screws for Firebird was $5.00 + $3.00 shipping for a total of $8.00 US shipped to Canada!!

Also, GM # 20370594 is the right part for the Christmas Tree Clip, and the Rear Cargo Compartment Screws to fit into. Be careful which way you install this clip into the metal brackets, as this will make unwanted gaps in the cargo compartment trim. Especially the one under the center rear compartment stowage box lid!!
