Re: carpet... what is the difference

The difference is in the plastic reinforcement on the driver side, the 82-84s have a much larger reinforcement, as well as another one the transmission tunnel.

We carry the ACC carpets for your 83. Here's a link to them on our site. I can send you out a free color sample too, if you need a color other than black.

Did you not just see what A1Tony just said? He linked exactly what you are looking for. Also A1 Auto is a great company to deal with.

Re: carpet... what is the difference

Haha no problem man, I believe that happened to me before aswell. Also I see what you are saying, there isn't a "red", Talk to A1 I gaurantee that they should or have to have red carpet, idk why they wouldn't.

Especially since Hawks has it in Russet, Medium Beige, Flame Red, DK Red Carmine, Oxblood, and Cognac. http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/carpet.aspx

but notice those colors are only listed under 85+... which brings me back to my origonal question... is there to much of a difference for me to use the 85... and the first reply said it has something to do with a plastic backing.... i might just try it.. and if it doesnt fit, someone else will benefit from my mistake... or.. i will make it fit haha

Re: carpet... what is the difference

The carpet from an 82 will fit in a 92 and vice versa, just the rubber pad on the drivers side, and the colors might be different from year to year.
