hatch pull down problem

Im having some problem with my hatch pulldown, my pulldown moter is leaning away from the rear of the car and is leaning towards the front of the car, so when i go to shut my hatch i have to get into the back seat, reach acrossed the well area and push the moter back towards the rear end of the car and hit the glass or have someone push the hatch down so that its on the moter, if i dont the hatch doesnt latch because the moters leaning to far away, is there any way i can fix this? its getting old having to do this....

are the bolts tight?
your guides might be worn...or non-existant.

Re: hatch pull down problem

the part that grabs the hatch moves up and down inside a track. there are 2 tracks in the assembly. the metal arms that are moving in the tracks should have 2 nylon guides each...one on each side. this is what holds the part sturdy. they can "dry" out and fall apart. check to see if you have them or not. if not, then wiggle it back and forth and see if that's where you have the play at in your motor unit.

Yes, you need those the guides. That why there is so much play with the pull down motor. Try downloading the hatch instructions from TDS so you know what is involved with the installation. It is NOT rocket science to repair the hatch pull down.
