people with 4th gen seats step inside
This might be a really stupid question. I just got a set of 4th gen seat and put them in but don't see how the seat belts fit the guides in the seats. Anybody know how they work?
Thanks,

Isnt there a slit in the plastic receivers on the seat? You might have to take them off the seat and pull them apart. Cant really remember. It would be one of the two.

On my 02 T/A, I installed a new seat belt guide on the driver's seat by carefully prying the trim around the seat belt where it comes out of the headliner.
Don't remember what I did from there other than it was ridiculously easy and I had the new seatbelt guide installed a few seconds after removing that piece of trim from the headliner. Seatbelt assembly probably unbolts from the headliner after that, at which point you can slide it into the new seatbelt guide and then bolt the seatbelt assembly back to the car.

The 4th gen seats didn't have a slit in the guide. A 4th gen doesn't have retractors in the floor, just in the roof, so the bottom of the belt could detach from the floor and slip through (just barely) the guide - and thus the 4th gen guides are smaller and have no slit.
Use a 3rd gen guide - like below - they come apart to slip the belt in, and the screw hole locations are identical as those on the seat, so they attach right on ...

Just search ebay for "82 92 camaro seat belt" and you'll see a bunch in various colors.

While we're at it, I just thought of something....
I bought a set of GTA Ultima seats to put in my 1991 T/A. Are the seatbelt retainers on these seats supposed to have a slit in them? Just wondering since I always assumed they weren't and a previous owner broke them.

Some 4th gen guides do have a slit in them. Its mostly the ones that were used on the verts.I have a pair of them at home
Re: people with 4th gen seats step inside
Additional solution for using the 4th Seats with there stock seatbelt guides is to do what I did. Remove the two screws holding the guides from seats. Then slit/cut the base between the two mounting holes, install belts and remount the guides. No big problem.
