what causes this?

what causes this?

ok so i bought my 88 in nov. everytime i start it the dash shakes and seems to wave at me. ( i dont mind, kinda like her saying hi to me lol)
stops when idling

any ideas on how u fix this?

put the screws back in that hold the dash pad to the dash face, they are (or supposed to be) right under the lip of the pad, just above the guages, and running across the entire dash. maybe 8-10 screws?

same man, but atleast it wasnt super heavy, wet snow. it wasnt as bad as i thought it was going to be, last night it was just horrible outside with all the wind

Check the 10mm nuts at each end of the dash.

The begining of the week it was nice but now its going down to the mid upper 50's here in Northern California

If your dash screws check out (there should also be two in each defrost vent opening) check your motor and tranny mounts. Those V6's are kinda harsh when turning over.

Ugh... Take the dash pad off and tighten the 5 bolts holding the dash housing to the cowl lip underneath it (one on each side of each dash speaker and one in the middle), and then the 10mm bolt at the bottom of the metal center support bar in the middle and also the 10mm bolts at the sides. THEN tighten the dash pad.
