will front and rear 4th gen seat fit in my 3rd gen with no mods? if so for mods what are they are they simple enough to do without being good with upholstry? the biggest question is if the rear seats will fit in there im sure i can fab up a brackets for fronts if need be

 

Yes, they are a direct swap. I have 30th Anniversary seats in my 89 IROC

 

Physically they are a direct bolt-in, no mods needed.

If you are putting in power seats though, the wiring will need to be spliced together, because the plugs are different,

 

Yeah, I had to run wires for the seat, didn't have any wiring there to begin with.

 

YUP They work just fine. beleive it or not i found a NICE MINT set of charcoal grey seats for my 86 in the junkyard. They were out of a 96 camaro. DIRECT swap except what BlackenedBird said. Looks great and WAAAAYYYY more comfy!!

 

Except What? The mounting feet fit exactly the same, so fit directly in. The wiring is different & won't plug in.

So what did I say that was wrong?

 

he was agreeing with you that the wiring is different and you would have to change some wires. thats all.

 

To get the seats to work you'll need to buy the wiring and air line harness from GM or you could make up your own. I followed what this fellow did with my 98 Trans Am leather seats.

thank you all so much i cant wait till i have the moeny to hit the junktyard up for a set of seats...the ones in this old girl are torn and ratty now i know it wont be a hassle to do it with nice new leather haha but first thing is first ...get it runing right then cosmetics is last on the list...this was more than helpful!!!
