power window problems

power window problems

Hell have a 1989 Camaro RS came with one window control switch the passager side window moves slow and off beat with the driver side window. Is one switch a bad idea to control both windows? Need help on soveling this problem.

Factory had two switches, probably for a reason - I'd get two switches operating.

these cars have very big and heavy windows compared to most newer cars. all that weight puts a lot of stress on the motors and regulators, so the motors can wear out and slow down. However, you should not have one switch controlling both windows at the same time - thats definitely putting a strain on circuit and the switch. try rewiring everything back to factory and see if the speed changes

Hello I have purchase a window switch for the drivers side after attaching the color wires pink,black ,brown and blue to the switch it did not operate the window so I swap out switch from passager side still nothing.
So as I Put the center console back together I dicided to hold both window switches at the same time both windows went up & down is this supose to happen? Are the wire cross I dont have a color code chart need help will like the windows to operate independly.

Take note also that both switches ground to a central junction point in the centre console. So, clean that connection first before spending any major money.

I found the best place for wiring info (other than getting yourself a copy of the service manual, which I highly suggest anyway) is the Austin thirdgen boards. You should be able to find the window circuit info here:

Thanks alot but having a hard time figuring out COLOR code for each window switch is it lh window up position blue & pink & down position black & brown as for the right window up position black & blue & down position tan & pink does that sounds right.
