I'd just let him deal with it, I did my own headliner and it was pretty easy. Mine had cracks and I just used resin to fix em all but I'm going to eventually get a good board and redo it. I did it last year around April I believe and it has yet to sag.

Re: prep for headliner?
That's a really good deal, around here I was quoted $160 to have mine recovered. I did mine for around the same price, $90 is well worth it makes the car look soooo much nicer with a clean headliner.

Re: prep for headliner?
3 1/2 hours is awefully quick.
I took mine out, cleaned all the foam of the previous sagging cloth off it.
That took about 1 hour.
After that I covered the complete liner in fiberglass.
I'm still in the process of repairing cracks. The fiberglass did not attach too good to the cracked areas which means that the parts that were in one piece are now re-inforced and the cracked areas are raised.
Have to sand it down, then use the kittyhair filler to even out the cracked areas.
Also still have to repair part of the safety belt area as that was broken off, and was my main reason for taking out the headliner and rebulding it.
I definately spent more then 3 1/2 hours by now. Guess it's closer to 4 1/5 but will be 6 before I'm done (that's working time. Since I ran out of fiberglass and am waiting to place a somewhat bigger order for new fiberglass mat and about 3 gallons of epoxy to also do a full hood and some other misclellanious parts the project os in hold for now)
So far this repair has cost me $25 in materials, 4 1/4 hours of work and I still have to order cloth. I think $90 is a fair price.

Re: prep for headliner?
thank you, all went well except for when i went to leave my car wouldnt start, VERY slow to turn over and it barley did that, so i figured the battery got low from the doors standing open, he probably listened to my radio alittle bit( kinda have too after seeing the subs in the back xD) so he jumped me real quick till it started then i went on my way. well after i got home, cleaned my interior, adjusted my hood, and adjsuted my kickdown cable i went to go for a test drive but when i got in i got the same effect i did there so i was like WTF?!?, so i got my tester, tested my battery, fine, tested my alternator, great, put a load on it, engine bogged down BAD and it went dead so my alternator went out on me :/, and i just emptyed my wallet getting my new turn signal and my headliner done :/

Re: prep for headliner?
Oncce you get an older vehicle and start building stuff, the car tends to determine the order in which things require to be done rather then the owner.
I had my plans double crossed by my camaro a few times now, and I only just got started. Also had to replace the alternator on mine.
As for the headliner, I think it looks awesome and for a fair price.

Stuff I personally found more important before I´m going to take care of anything appearance was safety.
Make sure brakes and suspension is in good shape, replaced safety belts and seats (yes, seats can be a safety hazard) and also had the electrical part sorted out, like lights and stuff.
I´ve seen some of your other threads as well and must say that you have a lot of the important stuff covered. I guess the alternator is just one of those things that goes when you´re not counting on it.
As for duals, from your information the car is a 2,8 liter. Technically seen I do not really see where duals would be beneficial. Getting a decent aftermarket cat back in 2,5" size should do just fine and cost about half of duals? But that´s just my opinion. I can´t help but let technical reasoning determine my course of action in some matters.

With engine done you have a lot of work done that I´m still only planning on doing.

Re: prep for headliner?
I got my headliner quoted for $75 parts and labor. Very hard to beat that price.. I don't think I could do it myself that cheaply. I was told under $100 guaranteed.

Re: prep for headliner?
i think so lol, i just purley want the look of duals, but when i first got my car it only had the exhaust all the way to the cat, no intermidiate pipe or muffler, so it was VERY loud. well needless to say i miss the sound so when i have my exhuast shop weld the new system in im gonna have the muffler ditched if i can and run with a glasspack so i can keep the sound. sounds VERY mean for a v6 and will sound better now with my new engine since its beefier than my old stock one

I appreciate any help you can provide!
