Interior is in all kinds of trouble
Hey everyone how's it going?
Bought my '91 Camaro RS V6 for $500 while I was in Iraq. Just got home about a week ago. Plans are already in motion to remove the V6 and swap in one of the newer Chevy truck engines.
I think my biggest hassle will be the interior though. Along with the normal wear and tear, the previous owner added some of his own "creative" touches. Carpet will all need replaced, seat will likely be replaced as well. But his creativity really shines through in a couple key areas. On top of converting the car to push-button start, he also spray painted the T-Tops black. I will also have to remedy the wiring on the electric fan control as the wires pulled apart shortly after the hood was removed.
One of my biggest questions at the moment (I'm sure I will have more later) is how can I get the rear hatch opened while there is no power to the car? This is an issue I need to address quickly as the previous owner must have forgot that he opened a can of beans and left it in the trunk area. So I really need to get in there and clean up this mess that has been making itself home in my car for at least 8 months.
Any help or advice you guys can offer would be great.
Thanks a bunch,
Eric

Assuming you have the key to it, just unlock it. The rear license plate bracket folds down and the lock is right there. And, even with the key not "on" theres a switch between the two window buttons that opens it too, if its a motorized hatch. Sounds like the previous owner did a real number on the car.

Why in the world would somebody open a can of beans in a car? There are some weird people out there.

@Shorty: Thanks for the tip, didn't even think to look under the license plate.
@80schild: Haha I have no idea what the deal with the beans is. My wife and buddy tell me the the previous owner was a real treat.
