Steering wheel swap

I'm in need of a new steering wheel as mine is worn and is no longer comfortable to keep a grip on I was just wondering if it is a simple switch and if there are any problems that I should look out for. This is the steering wheel I was looking at http://www.grantproducts.com/products/view/48/

Re: Steering wheel swap

if you're in california and have a 91 like your info suggests, you're going to have a hard time passing inspection without an airbag. Some have swapped out the airbag wheels for non, but it does require a bit more work than the older 3rd gens.

Re: Steering wheel swap

I do live in California, but my car is registered in Arizona (Family's residence). Besides that, would that be the only problem?

Re: Steering wheel swap

Same here. My wheel is rotting and I hate the look of the huge air bag compartment. Gonna make the switch soon. Just be sure you don't blow your face off with the air bag. Here is a link for disconnecting/removing the air bag. https://www.thirdgen.org/airbag

I'm not sure about any other problems. I'm wondering if the air bag dash light 'INFL REST' would stay on or something...

I'm sure it will. I've read that the only way to disable that is manually, which the manual tells you how do that.

Agreed. Another option... the light will burn itself out eventually. My seatbelt light finally died after years of not wearing it

What mount do you have for your gauges underneath the dash, One?
