Door trim

The plastic trim that runs under the window and one runs across the roof right above the window (with the door shut) on my car is starting to come off, what holds it on? I didn't see any screws so I'm not sure how to put it back on

Re: Door trim

I have seen this question so many times. I wish someone would give a detailed answer. I have a new head liner I want to put in, but would like to know how the upper door trim comes off. So all you guys that know the answer, give it up!

Re: Door trim

I'm not sure what it's called, the top one runs from the windshield and back along the ceiling right above the door, and the bottom runs right below the window, my car has a red interior and this trim is black, if that helps

Re: Door trim

That's the A puller trim. It's held in with clips. It's a PITA to get them out so most people just break them then replace them

That's a drag, D**n i really don't want to replace them. Has anyone been able to take off without breaking them? I know i have read that double sided 3M tape can be used to reattach them.

Re: Door trim

For the plastic below the window, you would have to replace the cardboard-ish piece inside the door. If you take off the interior door trim, you will see that the plastic is being held on with pegs going into holes in the cardboard panel. Over time the cardboard breaks apart, leaving the plastic loose.

People here have used fiberglass to help repair the cardboard backing on door panels or headliners and have used Superglue Quick Set Single Use Epoxy to glue a bolt to the back of the plastic piece to replace possible broken plastic studs on it.

Yep, it's possible to get the A pillar trim off without breaking them or the cips, I've managed to get both sides off. Used a little screw driver to undo the clips ( I did break a clip, but I have an entire box of those so...) Just takes some patience.
