So I recovered it in vinyl. I no longer have hvac or a radio so it's completely smooth. We have to redo my girlfriends car, so we'll see how one comes out with all the holes. I'm
Pretty happy with the results. What do you think? Keep in mind its no show car.

Well done. Maybe `bird speaker grilles would work for those w/ stereo.

That looks great! The would love to see pics of the front corners--thats usually where you end up with wrinkles from the folds. It DEFINITELY helps that you didnt have to deal with the defrost vent or speaker grills.

It's not a daily driver, and it has no heater or ac controls.

Redid my girlfriends. The defroster came out awesome, and just perforated it where the speakers are and it sounds fine. Along with the side defrosters. I'll grab pics. Looks good.

Please do grab pics, and provide any details as to how you did it on hers. I hate the cracked up dash pad, but I need to keep the defrost and speaker openings.

Re: Got tired of my cracked dashpad....
hers was easy. for the main defroster i cut a few slits, folded the fabric in, and used a couple small staples. for the little side vents i cut a square smaller that the hole and just pressed the vents back in. as for the speakers, i just poked a hole with a nail where ever there were holes in the grill. speakers sound fine. ill grab pics when i can.

Re: Got tired of my cracked dashpad....
I've been pleased with the re-cover on the kids car, going on 2 years. For glue used 3M 1300, red & white can, brushable yellow gorilla snot. 3M spray didnt hold through the first night. Only glue the underside wraparound areas not the whole top. For defroster vents I put black vinyl c-channel edge trim on the ""bottom" of holes, thought it would keep rushing air from lifting edges. For speakers bought rectangular plastic covers with football shaped wire mesh from ebay. They are warping a bit though in OKLA heat with only 4 screws on corners.

That sounds nice. When I put some
More time into the girlfriends car, I'll try some of those ideas.
