Need information on accessing and repairing or replacing the odometer in my 89 TTA. The speedo works, but the odometer and trip odometer do not work. Name of repair shop or company that sells replacements would be very helpful.

 

I just posted that same question about a 89 formula speedo..
We tore ours apart and found broken plastic gears in the unit. but we can't replace them because of the way its made.
I will be doing some searching soon.
BTW I have a TTA cluster with 39 miles on it.

 

Not sure where you're located, but I've been using Speedometer Service (now called Hamp's Speedometer Service) here in in Atlanta for years. Always had good results.

Mine is broken also. I got a quote from Southern Electronics in Virginia for $275. Comes with a one year warranty on repair.

Mine didn't work when I bought the car, so I'm really not sure if it's worth fixing. It stopped at 164k.

You can fix gm odometer's pretty easily, i did one in my truck, It stops usually because they have a metal rod ride on plastic, and it wears out after 20-30 years, i made a mount of some plasic i had laying around, played with some epoxy, and it still works, a year later
