Hawks third gen t-top headliner fix??

Hey guys I got me one of those interior kits from hawks third gen last year its a really good kit everything fits great its just that over the summer the front of the headliner was sagging in the front due to heat. Is there any way I can fix this sag and make it straight again?

Do you have a pic to see where it's sagging.

I think others have used velcro.

Re: Hawks third gen t-top headliner fix??

My bud had sagging and flapping issues with his t-top replacement headliner. We just got some GM knockoff interior trim screw with washers and drilled some carefully placed holes and screwed them in.

Placed 2 in the front header panel on each side of the center.
One midway on each side of the overhead light and one on each
side near the shoulder belt retractors and 2 more one on each side of the rear of the headliner near the trim piece.

Sure you can see them but again carefully spaced and placed so they look almost factory and not cobbled up.
Sure cured all the flexing and sagging issues.

for the money we have to pay for that head liner it should last a long time. I am almost tempted to just have the factory mold recovered if I am going to buy this and its going to sag in a year. thats totally unacceptable in my book

Yep - it is junk. Recover your original if possible. You can make minor repairs to it with fiberglass.

If you do use velcro, use the heavy duty stuff. One of the problems i just starting having with my ABS headliner kit is that the speaker covers will come loose because the velcro that comes with the kit for the speaker covers is not heavy duty. eventually im going to pull the speaker covers off and redo them with HD velcro.

here is a picture of where it is sagging it should be sitting a couple inches higher, Ive got a strip of heavy duty velcro that came with the interior kit but I think that it was meant for the rear speaker covers. What would be the best course of action? Drill and screw or go with the velcro. Thanks for the input guys

I would put a OH Console in,it would eliminate all of that.

But will a OH console like that work in a camaro? Are they that similar? I will do that in a heart beat and mine is still good from factory.
