It's a little cramped but I've never had complaints from my back seat.

There's no back seat, just a luggage space with seatbelts.

Re: Is the back seat suitable for passengers?

Depends on your passengers...I'm 5 ft 10 in 150 lbs and I fit comfortably.

However, I usually get complaints from most of my "larger" (200 lbs+) friends.

The rear seat is no place I'd like to spend time on a regular basis.

Re: Is the back seat suitable for passengers?

It's fine for shorter people but for the tall folks, its cramped. If your a tall driver like me (6'1") having someone behind you can have its difficulties.

Re: Is the back seat suitable for passengers?

Personally I don't like anyone in the back seat. Yes people can fit back there if they are under 5 ft. Or if you are making out with the stering wheel. I have very long legs and my seat is all the way back. If they sat indian style, Maybe!

Re: Is the back seat suitable for passengers?

I don't think they were designed to really be functional, or practical back seats. They are just technically back seats so it is classified as a sport GT, and not a sports car.

My wife would probably say "No"...But that's only because I make her ride back there all the time, with my power seat seat all the way to the rear! :-P

Re: Is the back seat suitable for passengers?

The passenger has some effect on it, but really its the people up front that make or break the deal.

I'm 6'0" and 240 lbs. I fit and can ride back there just fine, if my wife is the one in front of me. The real deal is that big guys in front have the seat too far back for big guys to ride in the back comfortably.

If I'm driving, women and children are generally ok in the back, no men ahhahahah. You should be fine with 14 year olds.

Re: Is the back seat suitable for passengers?

If you're a double amputee, the seats are great!
I'm 06' something and over 220lbs. Nobody can fit in mine...so I'm taking mine out it's a tan, one piece ( not split) with the shoulder belts if I can find the belts. The seat is still in but folded down. Insurance might say something to say but I doubt it.

Re: Is the back seat suitable for passengers?

They say a picture is worth 1000 words.

What is a video worth? 4 Grown men in a car for 160 miles.......

It can be done. Its TIGHT, but doable.

I should mention that at 6ft I was the shortest person in the car, the guy sitting behind me was a hair taller than me, and the other two were 6'4". Car sure rides diffierent with an extra 700lbs or so in it!

Re: Is the back seat suitable for passengers?

I spent a lot of time in the backseat of thirdgens during my childhood, I even rode on the "hump" plenty of times. When I first got my GTA I decided to sit back there once for old times sake, needless to say it wasn't a fun as I remembered, I think I got bigger.

Also, the way the speakers are in the sail panels, it's easy to deafen your passengers in one ear if you crank the stereo up. I certainly have memories of that.

Re: Is the back seat suitable for passengers?

With the front seats all the way back my 2 10 yrs olds complain about leg room. Move the front seats up some, tell the kids to get over it, and get yourself your thirdgen!

Re: Is the back seat suitable for passengers?

I'll trade all my tan seats ( front and rear) for a decent set of black front seats. I'm gonna even cut the mounting brackets off when I get a chance.
Backseats seemed like an afterthought with these cars.

Re: Is the back seat suitable for passengers?

some how i had 4 friends back there, and even 3 friends all at least 6' and over 200 lbs, suspension and driving obviously took a slam, but like everyone said its a tight fit for bigger people and the driver suffers if there's someone behind him, i used to have any girls sit in the back(also so they couldn't touch radio lol) seats are gone now, i've been sheddin lbs.

Re: Is the back seat suitable for passengers?

I have a hard time getting in and out of my back seat. Im 6' 185 lbs If my friends are in the car 5'10" is the shortest friend I had in the back we too took a 160 mile trip to buy another 3rd gen. 4 guys all seats were cramped I think the next time we do a trip like that i will fold down the back seat and have the rear passengers lay with their feet in the hatch will need to bring some pillows. My 5 year old daughter is cramped with her booster seat but I took that out resently and she fits perfectly.

Re: Is the back seat suitable for passengers?

If they don't like sitting in the back tell them to find another ride. It's your car. Chose what YOU want to drive. It's not like you'll be a chauffeur forever.
