Would it be easy to fix this?
Would it be easy to fix this?
So, Im looking at a new 3rd gen camaro, and in the picture the dash board is cracked. I wanted to know if I would be able to fix it, and how? Or if I do buy the car, would I need to get a whole new dashboard? Any tips are appreciated thanks.

Re: Would it be easy to fix this?
Very common, and no, not an easy fix (assuming you want it to look and fit like stock).
Cheapest solution is usually to find a used one, assuming you can find one that isn't also cracked. I got lucky and scored one at the local pull-a-part a few years ago for around $20. But with these dash pads all being 20+years old now, there's no telling how long before a good used one cracks too.
Another option is to simply put a "cap" over it....this would be a very thin, molded plastic cover that looks similar to the original, and would be glued down on top of your existing dash. Most 3rd gen parts places probably stock these.
A carpeted dash mat/cover would be another inexpensive option, but not really a fix as it just hides your cracked dash.
I want to say someone reproduces dashes for our cars, but they're not cheap ($250+).
Removal of the dash pad is simple though, just take out the 7mm screws that are located in the defrost vents and underside of the dash top. Usually comes out in 5-10 minutes.

I wouldn't bother trying to fix that!!! if you have the money to buy a new OER pad from Classic buy it,if you don't I would just buy the cover for it.They do look real good.this is a cover for the TA or FB.
I put this in temporarily until Classic has the OER dash pad in stock.
