Dude, I'm in the same boat as you. I just wanted the ****. I make my car interior look more like a Tie-Fighter! At O'Reilly Auto Parts, they had the Hurst T-shifter **** and the B&M T-shifter **** pictured below. The boxes looked like they were sitting on the shelf for a decade! They would have been perfect, I was going to powder coat them matte black and they looked cool. They even say on the box "has adapter for 82-92 Firebirds and Camaros" but there is no BUTTON to move them between the gears? I had them out of the box and was looking to see how I could make it work. Alot of fabrication I think.

I see shifter ***** on the 2 sites and some of them have buttons. However I wonder if these buttons provide the same function as the OEM **** button? (black square button on top)

Haha I agree but at this point its better than the torn up sun faded leather one I cureently have. Will still be looking for better aftermarket ones. Only problem is the whole button thing....

They have shifter ***** as well. If I can find it, I have a push-button carbon fiber ****.

I know the T-handle shift ***** you are talking about and I am almost 100% sure that the side button is for NOS and stuff like that, I don't think that there is a spring and rod in it that will push the shiter rod down on the stock shiter. I love the looks of the B&M 3ed gen shifter, but it seems line a PITA to install and I myself don't want to hack up anything on my car.

 

Trust me bud, you are not the only one who feels this way.

 

They also had this Hurst Pistol-Grip Shifter **** at O'Reilly's. The package was all yellow from being in the window since the place used to be called Kragen Auto Parts! On the old box it said "Has 82-92 Firebird/Camaro Adapter". I opened it up and it looked slick. Get it done up in black and you'll feel like your flying a Joint Strike Fighter...........

......................................BUT NO BUTTON.

 

Yeah the button thing kinda sucks...it really limits what you can get
