It's a Vacuum Control Valve . I doubt they have at say Autozone though.
Modern Day Muscle sell the entire control panel for $20.

Ringo234 - I'm coming up empty finding one. Rock Auto now says ACDELCO 1571350 not found; ditto on General Motors 16032395. I have hit several GM parts websites all saying 16032395 discontinued. NAPA had a listing of 207708 (a number provided by another Third Gen member on a different thread) but it is no longer available. Advance Auto Parts called Four Seasons who said out of stock and no longer available. When I finish this post, I will start doing searchs on the ACDELCO number you provided, thank you for that. I am reluctant to buy used. I already have one of those. I read in another thread that I can pull out the diaphragm, soak it in brake fluid to make it swell and it will last for a little while longer.

Thanks. I went to O'Reilly's first thing this morning. The had a listing for it but it has been discontinued. They checked a supplier named Murray. I told them the supplier named Four Seasons no longer had it. They said Murray makes them for Four Seasons, but they discovered that Murray no longer has it either.

I'm going to attempt the fix in the video poste by W.E.G.

Thanks again for trying.

Re: a/c control unit

Just watched the video and want to try this. There appears to be 2 little black cap like retainer things (one on each side of the switch) that holds the switch. Assuming that's what holds the switch in place, how do you remove them? I thought I would ask before I get in there and break something.

Chris, it's been 5 months and I just don't remember what held the switch in place. I do know that I didn't break anything getting it out. I also can tell you this video was awesome! My switch is now fixed. My IROC is sitting out in the garage all put back together or I'd go take a look. Any chance you can take a pic of the two little black caps you are referring to and post them. That would probably jog my memory. Maybe someone else will offer some help before you go to the trouble. Good luck!

Here you go jkent. I'm definitely hearing a hissing sound from the switch area so that's why I think this is my problem. It's the little black thing at the end of the arrow. There is one on the other side of the switch too.

Chris - I'm 99% sure I did not have to touch those to get the switch out. Seems like I unplugged the vacuum hose harness from the back of the round, black switch and removed the switch from the heater/ac control assembly without taking anything else loose.

I do remember that it was a pain to get the stiff wire looped cable off of the black plastic peg on the round black switch that you are trying to get out. I slightly bent the stiff wire loop using needle nose plyers trying to get it off, but managed to get it to stay on after reassembly. I was sweating that!

Hope I helped some. I sure got a lot of help from this forum, especially the same video you are watching. Glad to get the chance to pay it forward.

Welcome, Chris. Just re-read my post. The stiff wire loop I refer to is what moves (extends and retracts from it's casing) when you move the A/C control on the dashboard from Max to AC to BiLevel to Vent etc. In the video it hooks over the post on the same side of the switch as the silver spring like thing. When he tests the switch at the end of the video, the wire loop is NOT hooked over the peg but the peg is clearly visible. When attached, as that wire loop extends and retracts it rotates that side of the switch to the different positions to route the vacume to the right flaps in your ductwork.

Re: a/c control unit

If it helps, I have started refurbishing and selling the GM 16032395 mode selector switch on my web site. I was alerted to the need for this discontinued item by a customer.
