Pontiac automatic shift **** in a camaro
Has anyone put a pontiac auto shift **** in a camaro? If so does it connect easily or would I have to modify it to fit the camaro shifter?

My T/A had a camaro handle in it. Swapped right over to a T/A handle, no problems.

does the TA **** fit right on the camaro? The TA has the button on the side while the camaro has it on top.

yep..direct fit
The button still pushes the the little plastic whatchacallit in the center of the shift lever, the same way the camaro one does.

Better question would be...
Has anyone (I think they may have but I've forgotten) put a shift **** from a Grand Am/Prix (the cobra-head style that's almost like a 5-speed **** but with the button on the front) into a 3rd gen? Not that I can use one (5-speed here), but out of curiosity?

Almost any GM auto shift ****/handle will fit any other GM product with minor exceptions...one is that Corvettes are unique.
I have a Cadillac Allante shifter in my 92 RS and a Pontiac Aztec shifter in my 96 Impala SS.
The only thing different with most GM shifters is the location of the lock-out button. They still work the same.

Re: Pontiac automatic shift **** in a camaro
I have to say I like my stock leather T handle in my TA better then the stock one in the RS.

I like the early 3rd gen Camaro ones with the super fat ball on top...except they're broken on most of the cars that I see, and the ball is literally sitting on top of the console and just moves with the shifter...
