Is there any type of adhesive that is used under the new carpet to hold it in place?

Re: Carpet Install Question

You can use spray trim adhesive. If the carpet is a good fit you shouldn't need much.

isnt that like a double sided sticky tape? is there kind of like a coating i can paint on to protect against rust and does some sound deadening?

Re: Carpet Install Question

Why go through gluing,it's absolutely not required.
The mass backing will give you some sound deadening.
