Question about carpet interrior ( please help with education in this area )
Okay basic as it is, I am replacing the Red carpet in my 1987 Camaro.
Stockinteriors.com is the website I'm looking at...now they have Multiple colors of red. Is there an RPO code or something to clue me in on what carpet is currently in the car other than the color of it??

There is an RPO code for your interior trim, yes. It tanslates to one of many colors, especially the red ones, but it does not state which type of carpet you have, does not define the carpet material, thickness or other properties.

so its just going to be one of those things to where I just have to pick between Red, bright red or burgundy and than buy matching interior?
thank you for the info im searching the rpo codes, there was a label underneath console lid.
Just in case anyones curious, new carpet is for when i have to rip it off due to a large hole rusted in the floor board on the passenger side. it runs right over the frame rail. any help there would be some good advice. i tried searching but couldn't find any detailed descriptions of peoples battle with rust holes

Lots of good threads in the Body forum, here's some recent ones, but search "floorpan rust" for more. If you've never dealt with bodywork before in general, it might not be a bad idea to pick up a basic book on the subject.
Code 72 should be your correct Red for '87. Problem is, few of the aftermarket vendors go by codes. Best bet is to order samples of several, then remove a kick panel or some other easily accessed interior trim part that will show the original, unfaded carpet color underneath to match up.
