Doesn't mention if the cluster is plug and play. Most require some wiring modification.

Re: Who wants to be first?

Five7Kid was first. He's got a thread in the LS forum, though I don't think he's completed the installation yet.

Hideous, WAY to much money. You do swap the cluster to an "after market cluster" and run ALL Autometer gauges for less than that.

Re: Who wants to be first?

From what I've read the Dakota Digital VHX cluster is pretty much a plug and play installation.

Unless you go with the cheap Autogage series, a full suite of Autometer will wind up costing almost as much, and no matter what you do, you're not going to be able to fit as many gauges, and you're going to have a smaller speedometer & tach than stock. For some, the Dakota Digital is a much better solution, and the non-Carbon Fiber style have a more OEM-like appearance.

FYI, here's a pic of Five7Kid's install:

Re: Who wants to be first?

That looks like the satin version.Wished they'd left the oil on the tach though.

I've always liked those gauges except for the font style.

Re: Who wants to be first?

I thought is was just me who things the fonts are ugly.

The Dakota Digital cluster has some great features, but that font is ugly, hard to read and out of place in a Camaro. What were they thinking.

Re: Who wants to be first?

I've been thinking about getting one of the Dakota Digital VHX gauge packs. The silver fascia with red lighting would work in my Camaro.

I figure the VHX give more flexibility when it comes to changing the engine or transmission, and adds some neat functions (like 1/4 mile timer).

It's not a cheap unit, but the price is comparable with buying all of the gauges separately and putting something together. I might wait for a discount coupon or sale.

If anyone has pictures of completed install I'd be interested in seeing them.
