Speedometer Quandary
Hey all,
I ran into a snag. The GTA's electronic speedo is integrated into the printed circuit. The problem with a straight swap is the wiring harness and gauges themselves. The Oil Pressure and Fuel level gauges are flipfloppped when comparing the 84 and 88 clusters. Does anyone on here know anyone or have access to information as to which pins I'll have to change to make the 84 cluster work? Everything else should work. Another option I see would be to swap the dash harness, but I don't have a complete wiring harness diagram for the 84 that I know of. I need to run a cable speedo to run the T56, since it was converted. The Auto trans is out, and I refuse to put it back in, I could make a chart based on engine speed and all as a temporary measure and use GPS to confirm that, but I still gotta deal with the speedo at some point. Any ideas? This is still full speed ahead, I just won't know how fast I'm going.
I'm swapping parts between the GTA and the 84 TA, eventually having the best parts of both cars in one. That is the short story. I thought I could swap the speedo, turned out I was wrong. I won't try looking for a new tailhousing and buy a box and screw with wiring. Idea here is to use what I have.

Re: Speedometer Quandary
I found the layout for the printed circuit for the 84 TA. But I need someone with the same kind of diagram to confirm if the layout is the same on the 88 GTA and all I would have to do is switch the pins for the oil and fuel. If that is all I have to do then I'll do it and run the mechanical speedo.
