88 steering wheel on a 92
i own a 1992 firebird and want to put the airbagless steering wheel from a 88 trans am on it what do i need to do will it bolt right on?

When I tried replacing my '91's steering wheel with a three spoke airbagless one the bottom of the wheel would rub and catch against the column. I had to replace the top of the steering column housing with an older model and also get an ignition cylinder to match. My VATS was already deleted by the previous owner.

I swapped a 3 spoke wheel (85-86?) to my 91 with no problems. Everything bolted in. Had to clip a yellow wire in the column that went to the airbag wheel to get the new one in.
You'll want to remove the bulb for the airbag light from the cluster when you're done so you don't have to stare at it every time you drive the car.
