4th gen seat bracketd angled wont fit? And motor replacement
Ok am I crazy or something wrong with these parts.
I have a pair of 99 seat brackets and seats. drivers are power.
The passenger ones bolted right into place in the my 88 rd gen
The driver side seems to line up. but the rear of the brackets are both angled like 45degrees up. So they line up with the rear holes but they are so angled they do not even fit over the bolt, maybe by a few threads. They do not appear broke or bent and both sides of the rear driver bracket have same angle.
is this right?
I can install and just bolt the fronts for now. Also the power seats wont work. only goes up, down but not forward back is there a way to cheat he motor back so I can get in place at least for now?
are the motors interchangeable? Can I just take the up/down motor and swap to the front back for now?
people said the seats seem low and have to spaced up like an inch? Is that true they do not like that low especially the power seats seems really high

Well, SImple fix for the angle. I bent them back into place problem solved.
then I tried to power the f/b motor directly with 12v and even through the switch but no luck. I do not think these motors fail. pretty heavy duty. Anyone have luck just beating them or knocking them free? Maybe force the track and cable first?
I like to just get it into position and then set and forget it.
The switch from advance auto is $55 that is more then i paid for both tracks lol And I am not sure if it is the switch or the motor.

Take them out and test them.unplug the motors and use a jumper at the motors, then use the jumper to test the switches.

Re: 4th gen seat bracketd angled wont fit? And motor replacement
I tried plugging 12v into the broke motor directly. It would not turn. Interesting though. by having 12v at 1 of the motors the switches worked and drove the other 2 motors. Like they all back feed into each other.
I tried this on on the motors that work and they did not turn either so somehow the switch controls the poles of the motor and probably they are all hot and drop out. so me driving the motor directly without a 3rd leg wont work. wihtout going thru the switch and the switch could be broken
I didn't look closely but can the motors be easily swapped out and interchangeable? I could set the height of the rear. then swap the motor for the f/b operation to get things going?
