About a half dozen things I need to do to the inside of my door (92 Formula) but I encountered this fastener behind the door handle. Usually there is a screw here in every other car I've worked on, but I've never seen one of these before. Some kind of aftermarket deal? Its metal and looks like it's pressed into place. I can't see behind it to see if there is a nut.

 

youre kinda right, its a clip that covers a screw behind there. if you get a pick it'll pretty much just pop out with no issues.

Flathead screwdriver works too

 

I ended up using the tip of a small scissors and it popped out. The flathead I used before I started this thread wasnt thin enough. This was a fairly easy victory. LOL My worry was that some sound guy or mechanic had busted out the plastic around the screw hole and inserted that button to hold the bezel in place. But nope, just a 20 year old design that I had overlooked when I had a car like this 15 years ago. Im remembering a lot of things I had forgotten.....
