Red with white striped wires
Recently bought a 1989 RS to restore / build for my wife. Just replaced entire front suspinion, but that's another story!
Rear hatch pull down was non existant when I got the car. Purchased the entire setup from top down solutions to include relay and wiring harness for the device. Still nothing going with the activation of the pull down. Checked and replaced fuse for "lid".
I've noticed that I have two wires, both red with white stripes, that have been cut and looks like the are in the vacinity of the plate that the hatch strikes when it's closed, (has four small squares side by side). In addition, there is a red with white striped wire that is connected to the blue wire that is supposed to power the unit.
Does anyone have any idea as to where these other two red/white wires connect?
Any suggestions for trouble shooting?
I'm new to camaros but not rebuilding old cars.
And I thought Lucus (on British cars) was the Prince of Darkness. LOL
Never knew Chevy had them beat! What I wouldn't give for an actual wiring schematic...
Thanks.

Re: Red with white striped wires
If your restoring, you should seriously invest in one of these.

Re: Red with white striped wires
Red wire with a white stripe is 12v + for the pulldown motor. It hooks up to the blue wire in the pulldown harness. ( I know that makes little sense but that's how it goes)
